Before Selling Your Home

a home owner is ready to sell their home, they do one of the following:
- Call
a friend or an acquaintance who they know is in the business
- Get
a referral from a friend
- List
with someone who keeps sending you postcards with recipes
- Look
in the phone book/Internet for a local real estate company
- Sell
their home on their own

The Internet frenzy has brought about several
Internet real estate companies that offer a reduced fee to
sell a home. If you research these companies, you will find
that they are virtual real estate companies, there is no
personal contact. These companies are not a well-known real
estate companies and have not even been in business for 1
year. Also, a
homeowner cannot be sure that the company will still be in
business after the home is listed. Most importantly, these
companies do not have a proven track record.

If you are like most Sellers, you may have a
friend who sells real estate, an acquaintance from an organization,
child’s school, etc. You would consider hiring one of these people
because they would be upset with you that you did not hire them. But
really what is the most important person to think about when you are
talking thousands of dollars…..YOU!!

most important question you should be asking someone you may consider

company help me increase my net proceeds when you sell my home. In other
words, Does the real estate company you work for assist you in saving
money? The next question is “Can you supply me with names, phone
numbers and stories of people who have used your services?”
If
you do not get concrete answers to these questions or to any of the
questions on our list, Questions to Ask,
you need to reconsider using a Realtor just because they are a friend,
an acquaintance or a referral. You
have to get the facts. If you can save $5,000 to $25,000 or more in
fees, get better service and net more money for you home, anyone who is
your friend would understand why you decided another option.
