After being a real estate consultant
for 1 year, I decided to give back to my clients for their support
and had my first client appreciation dinner in July, 1994. There
were about 40 or 50 attendees. I wanted the evening to be my
clients' evening, and created the event which allowed them to go to
the movie of their choice.
Now, 8 years later, the client appreciation night went like this.
We moved the event to the Warrington Plaza, the home of Regal’s 22
screen movie theater. The Regal at the Huntingdon Valley shopping
center, where the event had been held in prior years, moved out to
allow L.A. Fitness to move into their space at the center. We rented
a huge tent, our only dilemma was the 100 yds. separating the tent
from the restaurant. We needed to be sure that everyone would be
able to get dinner in a timely manner.
At 4 pm, the skies opened up and it poured for 30 minutes. The
team worked feverishly, setting up for the event in spite of the
rain. The event went very smoothly, with over 350 attendees!! This
year we had 2 clowns. One clown performed tricks and sculptured
balloons in all kinds of shapes. The other clown was painting faces.
The clowns were a great success. When you went into the theater, you
knew who had been to the party…faces painted and balloon hats!!
A big thanks to all of you who made the event a success. The
commitment you all made to our event is well appreciated. It was
great catching up with everyone and sharing new events in all your
lives. My only wish is that I had had more time to chat. Among some
of the highlights which are special to me are....seeing children
growing up, seeing new children on the way, having our first client
in attendance (as always), receiving special letters and gifts from
clients, seeing pictures of clients and of their children (some of
which are making it in the big city) Even more, it was wonderful
seeing warm and smiling faces and happy and loyal advocates.
When I looked around, I not only saw a great party happening, but
also a great team performance. The team brought this party to life
and without them, there would not have been happy clients and
therefore there would have been no client party. I feel very
fortunate to have them as my partners, and as consultants for my
clients.
A great deal of satisfaction has occurred for me. Although being
hard on my myself drives me to give the best quality service, I have
realized that I need to enjoy what I have created and who I have
created it with…. my team and my team of clients…for life!!
Thanks again to all who attended. For those of you who did not
attend, please make it to next years event. We are looking forward
to seeing our advocates at our Advocate Casino Night on November
3rd. Gamble at the casino set up at LuLu country club with"
play" money, Dance to top 40 hits, enjoy a cocktail or two and
bring friends.
